Hybrid Meeting Etiquette

  • Be excellent.
  • Attendance and voting can be found in the #meetings slack channel.
  • Please show up early if you are concerned about your audio.
  • If there is no one waiting to speak feel free to do so at the next opportunity.
  • If there is someone waiting to speak, please say that you are raising your hand in the google call chat. (This will be demonstrated)
  • Please refrain from other side conversations, these can be distracting for the rest of the meeting and make it difficult for the chair to keep track of what's going on.
  • If you're in the space remember that having a single person speaking at a time is helpful for those attending online.

Ideation Night Results

View the summary and ideas list here (link). You must be part of the i3Detroit google group to view.

Overall went well! People had fun and we had a lot of interesting ideas come up. We'll definitely be using these as we decide what to focus on and what our vision for next year is.

The points that stood out to me were an overall desire for more social interaction (10), more organization / cleanliness / comfort for the physical space (17), and more Zone interaction (workshops, classes, how to become proficient in a Zone) (10). The idea for merit badges or something adjacent came up multiple times as well (4), as did purchasing a building (5).

Other ideas can be submitted via this form (link)

Zone updates

  • Volunteers sought to help design notice board - seeking inputs on a color scheme and zone logo - can be painted/vinyl/layered/cnc'd/plasmacut
  • Also seeking assistance in making it happen - buying/transporting materials to i3 (purchases will be reimbursed)
  • Proposed design is 4x8 Fire-Resistant plywood sheets, with magnetic whiteboard/bulletin board

  • Aj is now the Zone Coordinator for Commons
  • Jeff, Paul, and I have started working on designs for new tables for Commons. We're going to be proposing it as part of next year's budget
    • We'll be looking for additional people to get involved and help once we've decided on the design -- this could be a chance to get some experience with Machine Shop equipment
  • Also: thoughts on pub-height / standing tables? (In general, not to replace Commons tables)

  • We are quickly approaching December. Any storage plot that still has a yellow tag will be given a red tag and have 7 days to either adequately explain why they need a plot they haven't touched in ~90 days, or vacate their storage plot. There are a lot of plots that still have yellow tags. Remove your plot's yellow tag.
  • Nate got us some black/yellow storage totes! Thank-you, Nate!
    • I'm planning on building a storage tote shelf unit to test a new storage option. I will be putting the material costs together to propose as part of next year's budget
